All Girl Crew
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) and the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) have collaborated to form the All Girl Crew, with the goal of exposing more girls to the benefits of spending time in nature. Last year, the All Girl Crew spent time in the Olympic National Forest on the Pacific Coast to work on conservation projects.
This year, the All Girl Crew adventure will be in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Cherokee, North Carolina from July 8-20 AND a second All Girl Crew has been added in collaboration with the Appalachian Mountain Club for July 20-27th in New Hampshire. The one week All Girl Crew trip in New Hampshire will be less primitive.
Positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. This is a primitive camping experience and girls will be tasked with a number of physical outdoor projects. Girl Scouts of Alaska will send one girl to join one of the two All Girl Crews.
There is no cost for the crew experience and there is money available to aid in travel costs. Cost of transportation from the airport to the meetup site will be covered. For questions related to this opportunity, please contact Kelly FitzGerald.
If you are a Girl Scout aged 15-18 and are interested in this extraordinary opportunity later this summer, please start by filling out the council application below. Once your application has been reviewed by the council we will contact you and provide the next steps.
Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted. If this is an opportunity you are interested in, don't wait to apply!
