Hello Girl Scouts!
What an amazing summer we’ve had so far! We had Encampment in early June, followed by camp at Togowoods, Singing Hills, and communities across our council. It’s so nice to see girls and families getting together again.
Although camp is going full bore, we’ve had a few roadblocks with staff and campers having or being exposed to COVID. Our protocols are working and we have not had any widespread issues. I do know, however, that some of your girls have had delayed sessions. We apologize for all that does to plans, but we’re working hard to keep everyone safe and still having fun. We will continue to keep in touch on all issues.
We’ve been able to have camp in Juneau, Skagway, and Prince of Wales and we are scheduled to be in Angoon, Bethel, Gustavus, Haines, Homer, Hoonah, Kake, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Metlakatla, Petersburg, Sitka, and Wrangell this summer. Check our camp catalog to sign up your girl.
As summer progresses, we are making plans for a fun Fall Recruitment season. We’ll be working with local troops and service units to make plans to talk to girls as school resumes. Stay tuned for more news.
Our staff has been filling in as cooks, counselors, and bus riders for camp this summer. So, it may seem like we’re a little harder to get in touch with, because we’re out having fun with the girls! Please be patient if it takes an extra day or so for us to get back to you.
Have a great rest of your summer; it seems like fishing season is about to begin…I’m excited for that! Enjoy and stay safe!
