Spring is in the air! Finally. And spring means summer is just around the corner. If you haven’t signed up for camp yet, you definitely still have time. You can learn everything you need to know and sign up here. Our camp director, Polar Bear, did some camp info sessions where she answered all the burning questions—there is one more coming up on May 16. But, if you have other questions, please shoot us an email or call 907-248-2250. No question is too small.
To get you in the camp spirit—check out this amazing video about Camp Singing Hills. Through a generous donation from the Murdock Charitable Trust Foundation, we were able to capture girls having fun at camp last summer. This video will make you want to go to camp too!
We know that many girls have more cookie credits than usual because of the last few years, so if your girl wants to sign up for more than one session, she absolutely should. She can also use her cookie credits to invite a friend to camp. We can walk you through that. If you need help figuring out how many cookie credits your girl has, please contact us.
Encampment is also happening this year. Yay! If you haven’t signed up your troop yet, please do as soon as you can. We need to know numbers so our logistics are set for fun. You can sign your troop up or a parent can bring an individual girl. This year’s theme is all outdoors, and we can’t wait to see everyone again! If you want to volunteer, we have some openings to fill.
Last year, as a part of the spring renewal season, we had an amazing program with First Lady Michelle Obama. This year, we have another very cool presenter—Kristen Bell. I know many of us know Kristen Bell from her Frozen fame, but she’s also an author. She co-authored a New York Times bestseller, The World Needs More Purple People. She will do a program on May 19 that is for spring-registered Girl Scout members only. So, don’t miss out on registering so that you can join the fun!
Spring is also the time we celebrate girls bridging in Girl Scouts. We can’t wait to see photos and hear the stories of bridging ceremonies. Please send us all the pics so we can share the fun! We love to see Girl Scouts having fun.
