Girl Scouts can earn Cookie Dough when they participate in the Fall Product Program and the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Cookie Dough gives girls the opportunity to experience all that Girl Scouts of Alaska has to offer, from retail to travel to camp and programs, by giving them decision-making power.
Earning Cookie Dough
Girl Scouts can earn Cookie Dough through the Product Program. On the product reward card, Girl Scouts can choose to earn Cookie Dough OR the reward item.
Girls who choose Cookie Dough will receive a card by mail preloaded with their earned Cookie Dough and instructions on how to redeem it.
Cookie Dough cards will be issued and mailed twice a year
- January - after Fall Product participation
- May - after Cookie Program participation
Spending Cookie Dough
Cookie Dough can be redeemed for a variety of GSAK activities, including:
- Participating in a GSAK program or event
- Attending Girl Scouts of Alaska day or overnight camp - Cookie Dough can be redeemed for camp tuition ONLY in the same calendar year that it was earned.
- Shopping at the GSAK council shop - Girl Scouts can redeem their Cookie Dough for retail at the GSAK council shop only. Orders can be placed in person, online, or by phone. Cookie Dough does not apply to the GSUSA shop, and GSAK will not order from the GSUSA shop on your behalf. Retail items purchased with Cookie Dough may be exchanged for an item of the same value with a receipt, but no refunds/returns are available.
- Experiencing travel - more information on travel is coming soon. Independently Registered Girls (IRGs) who are Cadettes and above can redeem Cookie Dough to travel to GSUSA Destinations. IRGs receive Cookie Dough in lieu of troop proceeds based on the level they sell at and may also choose Cookie Dough over reward items to further fund their trip.
- Girl Scouts membership - Girls can choose to use cookie dough to renew their own membership. Cookie dough cannot be used for adult memberships.
To redeem Cookie Dough, girls must have an active Girl Scout membership.
Sharing Cookie Dough
Cookie Dough gives girls an opportunity to decide how to use their product reward. Cookie Dough cannot be shared or combined into a "troop pot." All Cookie Dough must be redeemed by the Girl Scout who earned it.
Cookie Dough Expiration
To encourage Girl Scouts to use their Cookie Dough, Cookie Dough will expire on December 15 in the same calendar year it was issued.
For example, if a Girl Scout participates in the Fall Product Program, she will receive her Cookie Dough in January, and it must be spent by December 15 of that year.
Cookie Dough can be redeemed for any available program or event being held after December 15, as long as it is arranged by December 15.
