Donate to the Bob and Sarah Eliassen Scholarship Fund
Sarah Eliassen is a trailblazer, an educator, a leader, and a Girl Scout.
In 1958, Sarah was the first Director at Camp Togowoods. She began
her Girl Scout career at age ten, she is a Girl Scout to her core.
During her first summer as Camp Director, Sarah taught girls new
skills like cooking one-pot meals over an open fire in the pouring
rain. They swam, canoed, and made friends to last a lifetime. Sarah
also met the owner of the homestead next door, Bob Eliassen. Bob
helped build and maintain Camp Togowoods. They were married for over
40 years. For 61 years, over 200,000 girls have had amazing
experiences at Camp Togowoods. On October 20, 2020 Sarah was inducted into the Alaska Women's Hall
Join us in honoring all that Bob and Sarah have done for Girl Scouts in Alaska by donating to the Bob and Sarah Eliassen Scholarship Fund to support financial aid and camperships for Alaska’s girls. Simply indicate that you want to contribute to the fund when donating, above.
Additional Ways to Give to Alaska's Girls:
Help build more G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders) when you sign up for your pfd. Pick.Click.Give today to Girl Scouts of Alaska.
Between now and December 31, you can support girls by participating in Girl Scouts of Alaska’s end-of-year giving campaign. All funds raised over the next two months will enable more girls to attend summer camps and participate in scouting activities throughout the coming year.
The EmpowHer Campaign is a month-long campaign that has replaced our annual Young Women of Distinction Luncheon. Your donations enable girls to be a Girl Scout, attend programs, go to camp, and more. More information about the April 2023 event coming soon!
